We write about silver digital content in the "Frontiers of Sociology"
"Frontiers of Sociology" is a journal which is highly respected in the international scientific community. Recently, it has published an article by Cezary Biele and Jarosław Kowalski from our Laboratory of Interactive Technologies, co-authored with Piotr Toczyski from the Maria Grzegorzewska University. The article is titled ‘’Proxy Users Enable Older People Creative Writing on the Web,’’ and centres on the content created by the elderly people on the web, i.e. the so-called silver digital content. In the article the authors analyse the consequences of intervention based on supporting older web users in sharing their knowledge on the Internet by younger web users (proxy users). They also consider the potential application of artificial intelligence technology and intelligent voice assistants which would make it easier for the elderly to create silver digital content.
Over the past ten years, Piotr Toczyski has supervised the programme of sharing the content created by the elderly on the Internet, and our scientists from the Laboratory of Interactive Technologies have been studying the interaction of the elderly and technology for years.
