The future of artificial intelligence in Poland: A conference
On Wednesday, 23 May 2018, in Warsaw, we organised a conference entitled “The Future of AI in Poland”. The event was held under the patronage of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, and the discussion was attended by eminent AI specialists from science and business.
Panel 1: AI Innovations and competitiveness in the economy (panellists: Dr. Eng. Jarosław Arabas, Dr. Jan Chorowski, Prof. Janusz Kacprzyk, Prof. Jacek Koronacki, Prof. Henryk Rybiński, Prof. Andrzej Skowron).
Panel 2: Sources of financing for AI research and implementation in the economy (panellists: Prof. Mieczysław Kłopotek, Michał Kreczmar, Robert Kroplewski, Prof. Halina Kwaśnicka, Dr. Eng. Stanisław Dyrda, Dr.. Dominik Ślęzak, Dr. Eng. Jakub Nalepa).
Panel 3: The impact of AI on society (panellists: Prof. Jacek Mańdziuk, Prof. Krzysztof Marasek, Prof. Mieczysław Muraszkiewicz, Dr. Aleksandra Przegalińska, Prof. Zbigniew Raś, Dr. Eng. Jacek Rumiński).
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to reflect on the strengths of Polish researchers in the field of AI research, directions of research to be supported, possibilities of integration of fragmented research, public policy in AI funding, social aspects of AI developments and many other issues related to the future of artificial intelligence in Poland.
