Kongres 590 – Science and business are inseparable
Together with the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Information Processing Institute is a partner of Kongres 590, an event which took place in Jasionka near Rzeszów for the third time this year. The Institute could be found in the Innovation Zone, together with participants from the National Centre for Research and Development, the Polish Centre for Technology Development, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, and the National Contact Point for Research Programmes of the European Union.
Kongres 590 is one of the most important economic events in Poland, bringing together participants from science and research, business, politics, legislature and public administration to exchange views and jointly reflect on scenarios that would strongly benefit Poland's economy.
This year's motto, "Science and business are inseparable", guided numerous debates during the congress. Experts from leading industries and representatives of the Ministry of Science, with Minister Jarosław Gowin, discussed the cooperation between Polish science and business, pondering on ways to strengthen and develop those ties. Panel discussions focused on topics such as smart cities, venture capital market in Poland, foreign direct investments, cybersecurity and the defence industry.
The congress also included workshops for entrepreneurs, where they could learn how to use the EU funding for the implementation of innovative business solutions. Most recent Polish innovations, including products and solutions, were also presented.
Kongres 590 was held on 15–16 November 2018 under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland.
